In spite of the best efforts of Leftist utopians there is classical evidence a global war is in planet Earth’s future. Islamic purists dream of the glory days when Islamic empire was spread by the sword with a goal of global conquest to establish a theo-political Islamic Supremacist world.
I think most people would agree that war is evil. Thinking metaphysically or theologically, why is there evil in human civilization? In religions that believe in a Creator-deity, why would the deity allow evil to exist?
Just out of full disclosure I have to own up to the fact I am neither a theologian nor a philosopher. I am uncertain that I am even qualified to be an armchair theologian or philosopher. I am one who dabbles in contemplation. Contemplation is an exercise that does not require a formal degree or a path of expertise. Certainly there are many that believe contemplation is a matter of expertise in which the exercise thereof is a ritualized practice which is attained by experience. The reality is any individual is capable of a moment or period of inner reflection in which flashes of insight is possible.
The only problem with individual contemplation is the heart of the individual. The more Light one’s heart possesses the better the individual’s insight will work toward the good of the individual or the many. The more darkness one’s heart possesses the more an insight will work toward evil for the individual or the many.
This returns us back to the query of a Creator-deity and evil. How or why can a deity who is representative of absolutes hence absolute good, allow the existence of evil in His creation? Is it not

Pedophilia after all has been a problem for the Catholic Church publicly for decades or longer. It is surprising that a homosexual scandal happened at the Vatican the heart of the Roman Catholic Church. I know pessimists may not be surprised. My surprise lies in the fact the current Pope is conservative.
One would think that Pope Benedict XVI would take action to clean the morality up. He needs to establish some kind of Papal Commission.

The Next War

The signs are there, the occurrence fixed only the actual dates are unknown. Given a shock like the American usage of nuclear bombs in World War II, the war may be short, as was the Six Day War in 1967. Or it can be long, much longer than the Day of Atonement War in 1973, if it becomes an all-out war for elimination and survival. In either case, it will start with a surprise attack, like Pearl Harbor or Germany’s invasion of Poland.
Israel and the West will be dumbfounded and awake to a very ugly reality. If eyes do not open quickly, the USA may actually contribute to a faster deterioration of Israel’s chances of survival. Failure to attribute action against Israel correctly, or expecting the President’s charm to work wonders in places it has already failed, may further collapse Israel’s already weakened condition. America’s full military might behind Israel is NOT for Israel’s sake, it is for America’s own future survival.
To answer those who ask “why be pessimistic?” I say: We do not have the luxury of fooling ourselves anymore. Few who understand the enemy believe tomorrow will bring with it peace and reconciliation. Evil is emboldened and becomes more aggressive as we continually retreat into our cocoon of optimistic denial and rosy anticipation of a benevolent future.

Anti-Semitism is a word that paints a picture of racism. It is an experience Jews have experienced from time immemorial. The approximately SIX MILLION Jews murdered in Hitler’s Nazi genocide is only unique in the terms of the sheer number of Jews massacred methodically in a relatively short period of time.
Ever since the last Diaspora of Jews courtesy of the Roman Empire, the Chosen People have been harassed. Jews went all over the place in that Diaspora and a large chunk settled into what is today Europe. European anti-Semitism is notoriously legendary from the eastern portions of European Russia to the west coast part of Europe of Spain, France and Britain as well as all European nations in between.
The nadir of European anti-Semitism is undoubtedly the Nazi Holocaust. Yet even before the Holocaust there was guilt over anti-Semitism. Initial British influence momentarily hooked up with the European Zionist movement. Thus as WWI neared its end the Balfour Declaration assured Jews that a national homeland would be established in their pre-Diaspora ancestral Land. After WWI the British and French began carving Arab portions of the defeated Islamic Ottoman Empire (Turkey).

Almost all Western concerned nations that do not have economic deals with Iran are beginning to fall in line with the reality that the only reason for enriching uranium to weapons grade is to build nuke warheads.
Unfortunately there is another geopolitical reality. The world’s economy is increasing a global economy. This is to say nations that have a medium to thriving economy are experiencing a global interdependence in one fashion or another.
If America suffers a 1930’s type depression, the effect will be felt globally. If a regional war erupts in the Middle East staving the flow of oil to the West, the effect will be felt globally. If a nation that has nuclear weapons becomes unstable or becomes a rogue expansionist nation, the rogue attack of nuke warheads quite probably will force economic and militaristic powerhouses to choose sides causing a global effect. If a nation (e.g. Israel) entertains a preemptive strike against a rogue nuclear armed nation then it is undoubtedly the case the rogue nation and its clients (Nations or Terrorists) will respond, the effect will be felt globally according to the certain escalation.
There will come a time when nations will have to count the cost of threats to their economy, vitality and security. The other evening we were privileged to hear an IDF colonel speak about Israel’s battle against terrorism.
Much has been written and spoken lately about an egregious anti-Semitic document called the Goldstone Report alleging Israel of misdeeds. We were anxious to learn the truth from someone who is in the fray daily and literally on the front lines of battle.
Viewing real footage from the air and on the ground pointed up the formidable challenges of winning any war against terrorism. The colonel admitted it is impossible to defeat all our enemies. Marjah, Taliban and Pakistan

Ryan Mauro has another view of the Marjah campaign that is part of the Afghan troop surge. Operation Moshtarak is the work of the NATO troops with America in the lead to dislodge the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Marjah evidently is the hub for Taliban narcotics trade. Dislodging from there and the Helmand province could put a crimp in the Taliban’s monetary resources.
Mauro’s view of Marjah is a bit more negative than the AP story I posted on the February 28. The NATO forces have apparently received stiffer resistance than the AP story implied. As of the wee hours of Mauro’s posting Mauro reports Marjah had not been completely secured. The NATO troops have control of the major roads and by-ways it is a matter of time wading through mine fields of IEDs to further a stance of kicking the Taliban out of the area.
Mauro notes that many of the inhabitants are a bit distrusting of the Afghan government because of the shady way President Karzai sowed up his election victory.

The Jerusalem Post is reporting that the terror trio of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and Syria President Bashar Assad have held a meeting over dinner to discuss "threats" in the region. Obviously it does not take much imagination to determine that the "threat" that these terrorist masterminds were discussing was none other than Israel. The Jerusalem Post reports:
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah met Thursday evening in Damascus along with their senior advisors, and discussed regional developments and “the zionist threat,” it was revealed Friday.
The two were the guests of Syrian President Bashar Assad, who had dinner with the two and participated in the talks.
According to Arab media reports, the meeting was not reported upon until after it had taken place for security reasons.
