Salaam Fayad – PA Prevaricator

 This article published in the Jerusalem Post and written by Khaled Abu Toamey gives the Palestine Authority Prime Minister Salaam Fayad extraordinary praise citing Fayad’s willingness to step down from Prime Minister in the hope of facilitating a Fatah-Hamas Palestinian Authority unity government.

Is Fayad deserving of all the adulation which includes Secretary of State Hillary Clinton?

Is it any wonder Fayyad resigned? He bagged a whale with a tale!

When considering the 4.5 billion dollars allocated to the Palestinian Authority by the Donor Conference Attendees on March 2, consider page 42 of this Fayyad PLO Propaganda Ministry creation, entitled “The Palestinian National Early Recovery And Reconstruction Plan for Gaza 2009-2010″ in association with the Human Rights Groups and NGOs which supposedly are objective in their wish to advance peace and justice. The document can be found at the following web address. It is not as if Clinton didn’t have a chance to read the entirety of the document - it was the only document on the table in Sharm el Sheikh that day. Her comments on the matter, reflect a complete acceptance of the PNA effort.

Realize, it is a work of art. It has been in the works since April of last year. In January of 2008, the Western Leaders of the world pledged $7.4 Billion to the care of the Palestinian Authority Prime Minister’s capable hands. Apparently $3 billion has already been in the works to be dispersed through the World Bank. This March 2nd Egyptian Dog and Pony show was just window dressing in which the final act would be unveiled. The plan called for $2.8 billion, but overwhelming support yielded $4.481 billion, which was just the already agreed upon amount, but it looked really good when framed in the Gaza Reconstruction effort.

The highlight comes on p. 43: The prize quote stems from a publication called The Lancet Global Health Network by Dr. Sittah and Dr. Ang from their February 2, 2009 post “The Wounds of Gaza”.

Under the subheading Human Rights and Protection - the first paragraph reads “The major threat for Palestinians in Gaza remains the possibility of further incursions and attacks by the Israeli army. The legitimacy of protection concerns under such circumstances is demonstrated by a recent article in the Lancet: ‘Survivors describe Israeli tanks arriving in front of homes asking residents to come out. Children, old people and women would come forward and as they were lined up they were fired on and killed. Families have lost tens of their members through such executions. The deliberate targeting of unarmed children and women is well documented by human right groups in the Gaza Strip over the past month.’”

This resortation to flat out lying shows a desire by Human Rights groups to frame Israel for Genocide and the execution of women, the elderly and children of Gaza. Considering Iran’s charges of War Crimes, it can be assumed that with Secretary Clinton’s remarks as to the accuracy of the 53 page report, that this will be a prosecution exhibit in the case.

It seems odd that Secretary Clinton would say that Fayyad’s presentation of the facts of the Gaza situation were, as she stated “…as good as I have seen.”

To provide a touch of context, Glenn Kessler notes in his Washington Post article “Secretary Clinton Can Still Play Politician”, Clinton’s appraisal of Fayyad on a question regarding whether a Palestinian State could be created within a year: “I wish it could happen tomorrow. I wish it could happen certainly by the end of this year. But I will not give up. We will make progress. We made progress today. The amount of money committed was significant. The presentation from Prime Minister Fayyad was as good as I’ve seen from anybody. I mean, that’s a presentation that should make every person proud, because it was so professional, so well thought out, and it inspired confidence. The statement of President Abbas about working together to achieve a state should give absolute proof that we’re not giving up on the two-state solution; we are committed to it.”

In a Consulate post on the 2nd of March, Clinton remarks “We are working with our Palestinian partners to help pave the way for a responsible Palestinian state that can be independent, accountable to its people, and live in peace with Israel and its Arab neighbors.

President Abbas and Prime Minister Fayyad both displayed their leadership today as they outlined their objectives in their remarks. And it wasn’t only goals. There were very specific requests that I believe helped to create the confidence that led to the very large sum of money that was pledged today.”

One can only wonder why Secretary Clinton and President Obama would partner with those who would knowingly push Propaganda 43 pages into a prospectus requesting money from the world. While the document is supposed to be factual - the inclusion of “The Wounds of Gaza” piece throws the entire prospectus of Fayyad and the World Bank and USAID and UNRWA into the arena of the suspect…and demands a formal review of all facts by an independent commission of the US Congress before any such proceeds are meted out to the Palestinian National Authority. Time may be of the essence in the situation, but facts and propaganda are two entirely different things. This may be the first true Gaffe of the Obama Diplomatic desire to Engage and Reconcile with those who seek to implement a “moderate” form of Shariah Law.
